Dr. Schnabel is an Associate Professor of Equine Orthopedic Surgery in the Department of Clinical Sciences at NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine. She is also an Associate Director of the Comparative Medicine Institute at NCSU. Dr. Schnabel completed her DVM, Large Animal Surgery Residency, and PhD at Cornell University under the mentorship of Dr. Lisa Fortier and Dr. Douglas Antczak. She is board certified in both the American College of Veterinary Surgery and the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Lauren’s research focuses on stem cell immunology, use of biologic therapies to treat musculoskeletal injuries and diseases, and advancing equine rehabilitation protocols.
Linda Lauper is a 1993 University of Minnesota graduate. She then went on to an extended residency at Alamo Pintado from 1993-1995. She has significant interest in Eastern medicine and holistic approaches to veterinary medicine while still basing her practice on Western medicine core principles. She is a CVA (certified veterinary acupuncturist), CVHP (certified veterinary herbal practitioner), CVTP (certified veterinary Tui-Na practitioner – chiropractic) and a TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine). She is currently a Director/Instructor at Chi West Coast University. Her practice in Northern California involves high level Western Performance and English Sport Horse athletes. She also actively competes with her family in Show Jumping. In her spare time she coaches track & field at the high school level.
Dr. Tanner has 30 plus years of experience in equine medicine. Prior to opening Tanner Equine, Dr. Tanner served as a veterinarian and partner for Elgin Veterinary Hospital for 13 years. He also practiced at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital for 10 years and established their Rockdale branch. Dr. Tanner was recognized as a Top 5 Veterinarian by the PRCA in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2016, Dr. Tanner was awarded the distinguished honor of 2016 Veterinarian of The Year by the PRCA. Dr. Tanner has been traveling to the National Finals Rodeo to serve his clients. During this time, he has been the veterinarian for over 50 qualifiers, 6 World Championships, an arena record, a single season earnings record and 5 PRCA Horse of The Year recipients. Dr. Tanner is a member of the Texas Medical Veterinary Association, the Texas Equine Veterinary Association, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Scott McClure received his veterinary degree from Iowa State University in 1990. He then completed an internship and surgery residency at Texas A&M. Dr. McClure became boarded by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1995, and received his PhD from Texas A&M in 1996. He was in private practice in Oklahoma, then returned to university practice at Purdue University. Dr. McClure was at Iowa State University from 2000 to 2016 specializing in equine lameness and surgery, becoming an American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Diplomate in 2015. He then returned to private practice and established Midwest Equine, a surgery and sports medicine facility in Central Iowa. Dr. McClure has published many peer reviewed articles and has presented scientific and continuing education seminars nationally and internationally.
